Marguerite Casey Foundation hopes to foster a movement of working families advocating for long-term change. We recognize that social movements are made up of many constituencies and organizations; that success of these movements is dependent on these groups converging to build on common strengths and goals. To this end, the Foundation funds organizations across a wide spectrum of issues, with the end goal of creating a strong and diverse movement of families.

The Foundation seeks organizations that achieve short-term improvements in the lives of families and communities, while working to create long-term change. We look for organizations who realize this change by actively engaging their communities in their work and making families' voices heard.

A Marguerite Casey Foundation grantee is an organization whose leadership is indigenous to its community and accountable to its constituency. Organizations that we fund embrace movement-building, and recognize the role that they play, as one of many, working to close the gaps in wealth, health, privilege and power in our society.

Marguerite Casey Foundation envisions a world where children are nurtured; families are engaged in civic life; and the needs of today are balanced with those of the future. We act because it is only when we embrace ideals in action that our words and wishes take on meaning and life.

The Foundation does not accept or respond to unsolicited grant proposals, inquiries or letters of intent. In doing so, our staff is better able to provide additional time and resources to our grantees and their constituencies in each of our target regions.
