Karen Urlie

Grant Manager

“We urgently need to make compassion a clear, luminous and dynamic force in our polarized world. It is the path to enlightenment, and indispensable to the creation of a just economy and a peaceful global community.”
Karen Armstrong, author, founder – Charter for Compassion

As the program support manager, I coordinate the internal processes of the program team and manage the logistics of the Foundation’s regional and national convenings. I am inspired by the work of grantees and families all striving for justice and equity in their communities, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support that good work, even in some small way.

In my past life I performed as a classical soprano and was a member of the Seattle Opera Chorus for 15 years. I am now a proud mom of one energetic and happy little boy.

I joined MCF in 2010.
