“Individual commitment to a group effort–that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.” Vince Lombardi
At Marguerite Casey Foundation, we are all about working together in service of helping low-income families strengthen their voices and mobilize their communities.
It is my belief that everyone – no matter who they are or where they live – deserves an equal voice in public policy decisions that impact their lives. This belief aligns naturally with Marguerite Casey Foundation’s work, which is grounded in the belief that families experiencing poverty and other injustices know best what is needed in their communities. They hold the keys to creating a more equitable society. It begins with listening to families and grantees, helping them tell their stories, then elevating those stories to a national audience.
Through our Foundation website, Equal Voice storytelling, monthly newsletter, essays by grantees and families, podcasts, magazine, community recognition awards and social media, we elevate the voices of families.
Working collaboratively and maintaining trusted relationships are critical to realizing our potential, achieving our goals and creating positive impact in the communities we fund and through the stories we tell. This makes my work at the Foundation professionally and personally rewarding.
In my work, I strive to balance the needs of the Foundation’s staff with our organizational priorities and programs as well as our internal and external communication objectives. My diverse experiences have provided me with a set of broad–based skills that allow me to contribute to Marguerite Casey Foundation’s mission and future by creating innovative ways to engage employees, nurture our culture and support the Foundation’s commitment to storytelling that both drives change and changes the narrative of poverty. Marguerite Casey Foundation’s tagline – Change for families. By families. – truly captures how I and everyone at the Foundation go about our work.
I joined the team in 2015.
