“There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” Hamlet, William Shakespeare.
Throughout my career, I have always believed in the power of families and storytelling, and those beliefs fuel my work at the Foundation.
At the core of my work is a belief that authenticity – in writing, work, and our lives – drives change. Authenticity connects people, and that connection and community can create change.
Within the Foundation’s work towards a more just and equitable society, I strive to support families, grantees and communities as they build power, strengthen their voice and tell their own stories. As the manager of storytelling, I help share and amplify their stories and the story of the foundation.
Over the last three decades I have worked as a journalist in Washington, DC, and Seattle at Bloomberg News, the Seattle Post–Intelligencer and Congressional Quarterly. I have covered social policy for more than 20 years. I have also worked with a wide range of foundations in Seattle and around the country.
I joined the Foundation in 2015.
