“When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” Audre Lorde
I began my nonprofit career after working as a fisheries biologist on commercial vessels in the Bering Sea. I witnessed economic and environmental injustices and decided to align my life with the personal values of economic and social fairness for all. I am inspired by Marguerite Casey Foundation’s culture of innovation and active listening; I enjoy being a part of a team that is making the world a better place.
Before joining the Foundation I was a systems coordinator at Pike Place Market Foundation, which raises funds for Seattle’s low–income families and seniors. I was also the individual giving manager at Youth Eastside Services, which provides counselling and emotional support services for young people.
I began with the MCF team in 2015.
