Marguerite Casey Foundation (the Foundation) is hiring an HR Generalist to join its team. This position will serve as a day-to-day HR point of contact for internal stakeholders of the Foundation and will work closely with the Chief HR Officer (CHRO) to build, maintain, and execute effective HR operations and programs that allow our team to realize the Foundation’s vision. The HR Generalist will also partner with the Finance team and play a key role in creating solutions to maintain data-driven and compliant operations. This full-time position is based in Seattle, WA, or may work remotely. It reports to the CHRO and is non-exempt under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
To support and execute HR programs and processes that promote an excellent employee experience and working environment, including recruitment, new employee onboarding programming, performance management, benefits programs, and employee recognition.
The opportunity to work on projects that build and enhance the Foundation’s employee experience in partnership with the CHRO.
Oversight of the Foundation’s systems, records, and people-related data quality.
Partnership with our Finance team to ensure effective processing of payroll and federal, state, and local compliance.

Have 3-5 years in a human resources position in a racial justice organization - you bring knowledge of inclusive and equitable HR practices and systems and have touched all aspects of the employee life cycle at some point.
It’s a bonus if you have some work experience in start-up conditions.
Consider yourself an HR buff - you keep up with the latest in trends, employment law, and regulations.
Enjoy interacting and communicating effectively with various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
Love developing, improving, and implementing systems that keep organizations compliant and meet the needs of their staff.
Have experience managing an HRIS or HCM, including payroll.
Use data (numbers and stories) to create solutions, inform decisions, and consider long-term and short-term impacts on decisions and plans.
Act with integrity and can manage sensitive information confidentially.
Can manage your time, stay organized, and make and communicate trade-offs.

Hybrid & Remote Work - This position is open to candidates nationally and across time zones. The Foundation has a headquarters in Seattle, WA, and provides a hybrid option of two days a week in the office for those based in the area.
Physical Demands of the Job - This position requires constant computer work that may require repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands; occasional bending, gripping, pulling, collating, walking, and filing; occasional lifting, (under 20 lbs) which may require the use of carts.
Travel - Occasional travel by auto, air, or train.
